About Shana

Her Journey

Shana Pennington-Baird is a 30-year veteran of the Pacific Northwest theatre scene who successfully pivoted to a career in the voiceover booth. She returned to the stage in 2023 to premiere her solo musical, *Broken Wide Open*, at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, recounting the dramatic story of surviving an aortic dissection while traveling in Ireland.

Her voiceover portfolio includes national ad campaigns and corporate narrations for major global clients such as Microsoft, Verizon, JP Morgan Wealth Management, and Chase Bank. In the realm of character work, she voices “Raynah” on the animated show *Magic Mixies* and performs in video games such as *Boxing Underdog* on the Playstation VR. Shana has also voiced the *Toy of the Year Awards* and *CES* in Las Vegas.

As an audiobook narrator, Shana has recorded dozens of titles across fiction and non-fiction genres. Her recent releases include the Gothic mystery *The Secret of Cypriere Bayou* by Jana DeLeon, the historical novel *The Grays of Truth* by Sharon Virts, and the business title *The Femtech Revolution*. She also co-narrates *Canines and Cocktails* in the popular *Iron Druid* universe.

Beyond performing, Shana serves as Head Coach and Director at the Seattle Voice Academy, where she applies her expertise to teach vocal health, voiceover technique, and singing. Shana recently moved from one end of I-90 (Seattle) to the other end of I-90, just north of Boston where she teaches singing in addition to her voiceover work.

Feedback from the show…

“There’s not enough words to describe the complexity and the depth a show like this brings. I felt privileged to be in the audience. I feel grateful to Shana for sharing her story. And I feel blessed to have been witness to the amazing talents of the musicians in the show. This brilliant little piece of theatre is a slice of heaven, with a whole lot of soul. I truly hope Shana has the opportunity to share her story in this medium again and again and again. Thank you Shana for your joy, hope and courage. If you see Broken Wide Open playing anywhere near you, I encourage you to run to buy a ticket. This is a show I would have seen twice, if not 3 times had I had the chance.” Review by Olivia Ruggiero, TheatreTravels
